What is a house concert?
House concerts like the Backyard Series are opportunities for local artists to showcase their music and connect with their listeners in a more intimate environment. Please know that these are not parties with music. Think of local coffee houses, band stand in the park, not Animal House, you’ll get the idea.
There is no set charge for our shows. We are not a business, this is our home, these shows are for entertainment purposes and to support independent musicians only.
We would like to let you know that we do "SUGGEST" a voluntary donation of $15.00 per person over the age of 16. There will be a tip jar passed around at during the performance and although the "suggested donation” is important for the artist to make a living, please do not let that be a reason for not coming. We would rather see more people enjoying the music.
100% of all of the donation money collected will go directly to the musicians to split. If you are feeling generous, by all means feel free to throw in a little extra or purchase a CD from one or all of the artists.
What to bring for you?
For you.
For our outdoor shows, appropriate clothing for an outdoor evening event, it can get cool by the pond, a chair or blanket, we have some but not enough for all and bug spray, the bats get most of them but there are a few survivors buzzing about.
What to bring for your fellow listeners and you.
These are potluck events. Please feel free to bring along food and drinks, some goodies to share, marshmallows to roast over the fire pit and beer or wine. If you find yourself without something in hand, don’y worry, we always have enough food to share or we will order out for pizza.
What to bring for the artists.
Your ears for listening, your hands for applause and a few extra dollars for the tip jar and the artists merchandise, CDs, shirts, etc. Most of all, show up, listen and enjoy.
