The Backyard concert series is at hosted at the home of Alex, Liam & Kieran Wajsfelner located on Chandler Pond in Brighton.  Summer and early fall concerts will be held outside on the deck overlooking the pond or pond side in the yard. This urban wild oasis is just down the street from Boston College.  There is seating for 30 to 40 on the deck and another 100 or so on the pool deck and in the yard.   In early spring and late fall or in case of inclement weather  “Downstairs at The Backyard” will hold approximately 60 people seated with another 10 to 15 in the balcony and the stairs.

History, picture of the pond.

Hand dug as an ice pond in 1850, Chandler Pond is Brighton’s hidden gem.  The last of 22 ponds in Allston Brighton it almost suffered the same fate as it’s neighbor, Stong’s Pond, narrowly averting being filled in and developed as housing lots.  Surrounded by Galigher Park, both are home to and assortment of ducks, geese, herons, muskrats, foxes, bunnies (a few of them, see the afore mentioned foxes), the occasional coyote and two swans.
